Benzema: France manager bows to racists with EURO 2016 selection

– Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema will miss Euro 2016

– Benzema blasts Deschamps

– The forward was banned for allegedly being part in a blackmail

Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema accuses manager Didier Deschamps of his EURO 2016 choice

The 28-year-old states that he felt coach Deschamps may have listened to political powers in his squad selection: “He has bowed to the pressure of a racist part of France. He has to know that in France the extremist party reached the second round in the last two elections.”He continued: “I do not know, therefore, whether it is a decision only for Didier because I’ve gotten along with him, with the president, everyone.”
Benzema stressed: “In sporting terms, I do not understand why. At the judicial level, I have not been judged. I am not guilty, so we have to wait to see what the justice says. I like football and to play with my team.”

The real Madrid forward was banned for allegedly being part in a blackmail and sex tape case.

A French judge placed Benzema under formal investigation over an alleged bid to blackmail France team-mate Mathieu Valbuena over a sex video.

As a result, the 28-year-old striker will miss Euro 2016, which starts in France in June.

However, it is important to note that Benzema denies the allegation, a situation in which if found guilty, could make him face a minimum of five years in prison.

Noel le Graet, the France Football Federation president who had backed Benzema, said it was a “heart-breaking” decision to suspend him, but he added: “I have decided that he is not available for selection.”
